Updating Your Current GLN Minimum Equipment List (MEL)

While We Have Completed Over 3,000 MEL Approvals All Over The World, Each of These Are Different-So Stay In Communication With Our Staff.

  • We need to know the GLN MEL Job Number, which is on the front cover and if you don't find it right away (we have changed this from time-to-time), then call us.

  • This MEL update order will be reviewed at GLN and then we will email worksheets to you for completion.

  • We will update to the most current MMEL revision.

  • This may involve an entirely new MEL, which is normal, as changes cause breaks in pages and differences to procedures and other issues. Not as cut-and-dry as one might expect.

  • Does not include binders. We will send the new prints and you put them into your GLN binders. After the changes done for the FAA (one or two go arounds), we will send the other prints.

  • Prints are in black and white.

  • You will receive a new MEL worksheet as various ATA items do shift order and numbers with a revision.

  • The worksheet you receive is dependant upon the aircraft make, model, series and is tables of only optional and variable items. It also make link in STCs and other items, so it may take 15 minutes or so to complete and then FAX or email back to GLN at (fax) 303-925-1495 or email to mel@gln-compliance.com.

  • We will call you when you order to be sure the order is right for what you need and no more.

  • Turn time is 7-10 days after the MEL worksheets are back

INCLUDES the full-sized MEL and a Jepp-sized MEL print set.

MEL Use Policy: We have a variety of them for different regulatory rules, so we can provide that, or generally if this is for Part 125 or 135, the page only points to your operations manual, where the common MEL Use Policy would usually reside. If you need to update your company-level MEL Use Policy, this would be the time to do it.

FAA or Other Aviation Authority Review: Expect this to come back from the inspector review at least once, and sometimes more. There is a great lack of standards in the review process so we want to be sure that some inspector does not require something that is not appropriate or that might hinder your operation or cost you money.

(M) and (O) Procedures: We have most of these in our library, but you may be responsible to provide them to us for inclusion. Trouble ones include the Falcons that can be as large as a Boeing Dispatch Deviation Procedures Guide (DDPG). We edit the (M) and (O) list for your tailored MEL. However, there may be some procedures we need to work with you.

Updates: The MEL is carried through to the most current updates even if this has a revision while in to the agency for approval. After that you would have to order an update from our store.

Annual Fees: None. Mostly a waste of money as the other companies doing annual fees charge more than the occasional changes (average is 2.7 years, but some might be twice a year).

NEF Program: We include the software for the NEF. You will need about 30-minutes to make a company-level NEF. Some inspectors are badly confused, but this is not to be aircraft-specific, just company-specific so the same NEF is used throughout the company.

There are a number of issues to MELs and it would be best if you had a conversation with our MEL staff. Call our staff at 303-925-1491 and get your questions answered.

We will call you when your order is processed through the eStore to be sure you are ordering the right product, at the right price and the right options. Then the worksheets will be downloaded to you for completion.
